Far cry 4 secret ending

It's nice to see video game stories can still surprise us, and this is the kind of thing that wouldn't be possible in non-interactive media. And I think the whole point is presenting a path to avoiding violence and ending the game immediately without spilling any blood, a joke and a food-for-thought lesson that can really only work if the game is cut dramatically short. I think this choice is too hidden to create an entirely separate plotline like that, and there's no way given the scope of the current game that essentially doubling the story would have been physically possible for Ubisoft. I've read that some wished this "choice" led to an alternate game universe that allowed you to side with Min and his cause for the duration of the game. Granted, this is just an Easter Egg and the main plot has plenty of death and destruction and will force you to despise Min soon enough, but I think it was good to set the game up this way. Here, Far Cry 4 is playing with the tropes of its own genre by offering an entirely different pathway toward "victory" that requires no killing at all. As you get more power, you seem to lose more of your sanity, and by the end you're wondering if Jason Brody really did any of the things you've seen, or if it's been some sort of fantastical fever dream. Far Cry 3 examined the very video-gamey concept of a white frat bro coming to an island and becoming a badass, immortal, freedom fighter. With its last two installments specifically, Far Cry seems to be going a bit meta with its storytelling, and it's rather brilliant. I can't even think of another game to compare it to, that's how few games even hint at a possible way forward without a copious amount of bloodshed required. Do you want to KILL or SPARE this person? Do you want to join the RED or BLUE faction? And so on.īut here? By simply taking a character at their word, you get to act out a peaceful resolution in what's an otherwise excessively violent game.

FAR CRY 4 SECRET ENDING SERIES

Far Cry 6 is set to launch on Thursday, October 7 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, PC, Stadia, and Luna. We're all used to games either A) forcing us on the rails for the duration or B) setting up a story in a very obvious series of player choices that affect the future outcome. This alternative ending isn’t as fast to reach as the ones players can find in other Far Cry games, but achievement hunters will likely still have to go through it to get every achievement in the game. Immediately after, the game will show Dani relaxing on a beach three months later, with a radio host saying that Anton Castillo, Far Cry 6’s antagonist, has defeated the rebellion. Naturally, the game points players towards the fight with a waypoint, but driving a boat in the opposite direction for a bit will trigger a quick fade to black. After wrapping the mission up and sitting through some cutscenes, players are given the choice to either stay with the resistance or run off to America and live a sun-drenched life of leisure. The game has an alternative ending, though players will have to do a bit more than just sit in their chairs and wait as they did in Far Cry 4 or walk away from the entire game like in Far Cry 5.įar Cry 6’s alternate ending comes after completing Libertad Rises, one of the game’s first Operations. Like the previous entries in the Far Cry franchise before it, Far Cry 6 can be beaten quickly, that is, if players don’t mind a bad ending.
